Dr. Pankaj Kumar Deo is a highly experienced Consultant in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine with extensive academic and clinical training in Nepal, India, and China. He completed his MBBS from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, followed by a Master’s degree in Respiratory Medicine from Qingdao University School of Medicine. He further pursued Fellowship training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine in India and earned Fellowship of the National College of Chest Physicians (NCCP).
Dr. Deo has more than a decade of experience in managing complex respiratory diseases, critical care cases, and sleep-related breathing disorders. His areas of expertise include asthma, COPD, tuberculosis, interstitial lung diseases, lung infections, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and advanced critical care management.
He has served as a Consultant Pulmonologist at leading hospitals in Kathmandu, including Manmohan Memorial Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Norvic International Hospital, Om Sai Baba Memorial Hospital, and Aarus Lifestyle Hospital. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a Lecturer in Internal Medicine in China and completed his internship at Bir Hospital (NAMS), Nepal.
Dr. Deo has received specialized training in Bronchoscopy and Interventional Pulmonology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, India. He has also completed certified educational programs from the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and ACE School of Sleep Medicine in Obstructive Sleep Apnea management.
In addition to his clinical work, he has contributed to medical research, with publications in international journals, including research on inflammatory markers in COPD. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the National College of Chest Physicians (India), Nepalese Respiratory Society, and European Respiratory Society.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Deo is fluent in Nepali, English, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Hindi, and Chinese, enabling him to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. He is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, compassionate, and patient-centered respiratory and critical care services.
